Another Winding up order. Today's echo

J

The Chameleon
Due to his company facing a winding up order.

Ooops, sorry - i forgot - positive news only.

God bless our chairman eh?

Great businessman.. i'm sure. Only 2 from HMRC?? That's an improvement to SUFC's history. It's interesting that this isn't just SUFC he plays the game with, he's clearly got **** all (apparently) money. Also, private companies have also had a go at him.. unfortunately it's not his fault.

Please have a look a the article, i tried to upload - but file is too large.

There was also an article in there to say all of the call centre...Kids/Staff....have been laid off.

Still in the realms then of 'its going to get worse, before it gets any better'.

Strange parallel at the club at the moment with Sturrock pushing ahead with the squad side of things - bringing back the reserves (cost?!), getting players seemingly signed bar the shouting and Crawfords signing.... then we have news of more winding up orders and redundancies.

Most odd...

The professional way the club handles things just gets worse.
One of the call centre staff's mother said her daughter went to work and was back half an hour later.
She was meant to get Two weeks notice. Sadly, she is also owed over £500 as well.

The redundancies are from a call centre, because we have sold all of our advertising.
I reckon the embargo has already been lifted.
Why would Gilbert turn down a couple of years at Norfhumpton, and come to us. His agent wouldn't allow it, same with all of the other 'new boys'.

yea, I agree - hence the confusion between the two vibes coming out of the club.

I'm sure if the embargo was lifted though, then we'd announce a signing or two? Probably nothing is guaranteed after tomorrow?

All being well, we will have good news on the HMRC, Sturrock and co signing a deal and a couple of permanent signings.

probably still trying to reduce the Admin / Other expenses part of the accounts, they were rather high you know ;)

The winding up order is for Martin Dawn , the only 2 from HMRC refers to the 6 winding up orders MD have had in the past 11 years (since 1999 in the article)

Another indication of what has been said for a while, there is a recession hiting the property sector and RM has got cash flow issues, we have known this for a long while really.

At times like this creditors get paid slowly, and those who want to choose to use the Winders court as their cash collection service, generally company creditors use the Winders court as a matter of last resort, because if , as it is in a number of cases, it turns out to be a short term cash flow issue, any future goodwill is lost. and future orders when the company is out of the woods may well be significant.
HMRC do not have any worries on that count as everyone is forced to use them, like it or not, so they use Winding up orders to intimidate their way to the top of the payment pile.

I'm sure HMRC know of the link between Martin Dawn and SUFC as well and will be issuing winding up notices against any and all of Ron Martin's companies the second that they can.

Exactly. Ron's said how quick off the mark they are with issuing proceedings against us. No wonder with the way they're having a lot of dealings with his companies - that and they seem to want to send out a strong message to the football industry generally now. Let's just hope they don't want to make an example of the company that coincides with being (a) the most high profile of Ron's companies and (b) a football club.

Sorry to break the feel good factor, but as long as we keep having these hearings, we're not out of the woods by a long way.

The HMRC hearing's tomorrow. Ron obviously seems quite confident everything will be ok if he's not around to be there. We've seen the confidence before and come through the hearings through the skin of our teeth. Will we be keep being as lucky every time? Is this what being an SUFC fan is all about - worrying more about the result of our next insolvency hearing rather than a crucial 6 pointer?

It's about time we got rid of the call centre anyway, as it was just another pointless expense.

A League 2 club with a call centre? Pah.

Does anybody know if they will be looking for June's money tomorrow on top of the 200k for April/May?

They have in the past, and I imagine they will at least want reassurances (maybe a 28 day extension to pay June) otherwise curtains.

I can see us being landed with admin tomorrow, I really can.

If it gets in the courtroom, I would imagine that will be insignificant, if we get in I don't think we are coming out alive !
If we pay it off beforehand it will only be April / May
If we don't pay and ,by some absolute freak, get an Adjournment then by the time of the next hearing the June money will be overdue and I guess that the June numbers will be added to the debt as part of the figure to be paid in 30 days.
