Thanks to the fantastic achievements lately of the players, management and staff of Southend United FC, we at Shrimperzone.com have decided to mirror the team's successes by moving forward ourselves.
We not only want to maintain our status as the number one SUFC fans' website, but we also want to become a viable business in the process. This is because by being a business, rather than just some mates 'doing it for a laugh', we would carry more clout in terms of potential sponsorship deals, dealings with the Club, potential future merchandising and so on. More importantly, it means that we can safeguard the long-term future independence and success of the website - protecting ourselves against potential defamation law suits, investing money in better server capacity, raising the profile of Southend United and this website within the online community, and maintaining our unique identity as opposed to succumbing to the format of one of the numerous syndicated websites out there.
The owners have therefore decided to set up Shrimperzone.com Limited.
What does this mean to you? Initially, the only difference you will hopefully notice is that things will begin to improve - we will focus in particular on two common complaints, which is that front page articles should be updated more frequently and that the site grinds to a halt when there is a surge of visitors to the messageboards. After that? With your help and with our desire to make things better, we will not only strive to ensure that Shrimperzone.com is the best Southend United fans' website on the internet, but we will also seek to make it the best independent fans' website of any club in the country.
