Echo News Anna Firth MP's urgent plea over future of Southend United

Well done, Anna Firth. Martin's disgraceful behaviour and handling of our club will now be highlighted at Government level.
I have a sneaky feeling that Ron will actually, in his normal narcissistic manner, think being mentioned in the House of Commons is great and will gloat over the entry in Hansard. He may even publicly thank Anna Firth for the extra publicity and thank her for helping to highlight his plight whilst trying so diligently to sell the club that is so close to his wallet errrr I mean close to his heart.

She's still playing the game, and at least that exchange will have caused a stir inside DCMS. If she gets her meeting with Andrew, he'll need to be briefed, and focussing the attention of senior officials on the case can't do any harm.

He's right about independent regulation too. It isn't a magic bullet, but it would have had options and tools to work with that just don't seem to be there at the moment.

Parliament then decides Ron isn't doing this for the benift of the club, and will compulsory purchase our club and land and pay Ron a minimal amount.
And then give it to the shrimpers trust and fans and for the good of the community.

That is the most optimistic post since the 17th March, when this sale fiasco started!

I love the way she's getting involved but what can she really do? Unless she's got 20 million to buy the club and everything needed to push on with the season then all she's doing is barking without any bite! Maybe she can have a whip around at house's of parliament between them they might have more then kimura.

I'd vote for that party.
