Interesting article in FFT on the loanees at Swindon, including Revs.
Here's the main bit about what he says:
Revell had cemented a place in The Shrimpers' first team when he learned of this loan deal, and still played in their next game - against Swindon. "That was a weird feeling," he says, "going up against two defenders I knew I'd be playing with in a few days."
It was all about the Essex club's finances. apparently, but things tooks a nastier twist shortly after the move when Southend chief executive Geoffrey King announced Revell had "failed to live up to expectations. He was signed by the football club to deliver, which he has not done and that is why he is moving on."
This seemed odd, given that Revell is still a Southend player until next summer. "The whole thing is very surreal for me," agrees the striker. "I've got a lot of friends there; I haven't fallen out with anyone. But it's made it very difficult to go back. He's made it clear that my future lies elsewhere, and hopefully that's here. But who knows?"

I'd still have him back, reckon he does a job here that goes largely unappreciated - and I don't mean the blogs either! Still, if it is a management buyout then there'll probably be nothing to stop him.

The only reason I'd have Revell and/or Betsy (for that matter) back at the Club is because we are struggling with injuries, suspensions etc. If we had a fully fit squad, with some additions in January then I would like to see Revell and Betsy move on.

Yes, both are good, honest, hardworking players and "did a job" but if we have ambitions of Championship football then players like Revell and Betsy will not deliver that in my opinion.

Hmmm before any ambitions of Championship football I'd like to think we might have a future in Div 1

Can Revell not take a hint.

Nice guy yes but for god sake mate you havent cemeted a place in team and you wont as your basically useless. A decent non league striker maybe but an awful strike rate and a complete lack of ability means we dont want you and probably Swindon dont either.

Not overly sure that Alex Revell will cut the mustard in League 1. Not sure we should worry too much about what he says.

Great - we've got a transfer embargo and people are saying they don't want a contracted player back - I'd have Revell and Betsy back straight away.

Keep all the talk about whether they are up to CCC level until the end of the season please - it's either that or youths on the bench, or Tilly in the reserve Team.

Any chance that we can resign from the Reserve Team League as we will only get injuries from fielding a Team at present??

Saw this as well and was going to put it up but i just couldn't be bothered to do it. I'm not surprised that he sounded a bit annoyed by King's comments, they were totally unnecessary. I would happily have Revell back in a shot if he wanted to come back, he is a worker and that's someone we need in the team, he might not score many goals but his support play is brilliant and he could fit into the team when Freedman is injured as he does a similar job.
