Here's the main bit about what he says:
Revell had cemented a place in The Shrimpers' first team when he learned of this loan deal, and still played in their next game - against Swindon. "That was a weird feeling," he says, "going up against two defenders I knew I'd be playing with in a few days."
It was all about the Essex club's finances. apparently, but things tooks a nastier twist shortly after the move when Southend chief executive Geoffrey King announced Revell had "failed to live up to expectations. He was signed by the football club to deliver, which he has not done and that is why he is moving on."
This seemed odd, given that Revell is still a Southend player until next summer. "The whole thing is very surreal for me," agrees the striker. "I've got a lot of friends there; I haven't fallen out with anyone. But it's made it very difficult to go back. He's made it clear that my future lies elsewhere, and hopefully that's here. But who knows?"
