After the redbridge game, what's our team going to look like for telford..

After the, what sounds like, shocking performance from our "B" team, what kind of team is tilson going to put out against telford. surely he wont want to risk being knocked out of the cup first round and miss out on what could be lucrative money for a club our size come round 3.

So is he gonna stick walker and furlong up front?
I hope not, laurent i reckon should be given a run out alongside revs, hope they can grab a few, especially revs to show he can score as well as being a great team player. and with barney and freedman on their way back to fitness their chances are gonna be limited.

Midfield?
Without our loanees it's gotta be Macca, but alongside who, a youth player or grant? And on the wing, i presume Scannell would be starting, a chance for him to make an impact on the squad, and Betsy on the other wing. just anyone but walker, he can t play upfront, how will he be able to play on the wing!?

Defence?
I can see sankofa playing alongside barrett at CB. herd at LB and franno at RB, altho if he cant motivate himself for a L1 fixture then how will he motivate himself and appear bothered about playing against telford?

Goalkeeper?
Joyce or Mildy. Pretty sure Masters wont get a look in after the Senior Cup performance.

Looking forward to the game, unlike trying to get through Birmingham!

Why no Clarkey?
Sankofa & Clarke as CBs, Barrett at LB I think.
Mildenhall now he's fit again, back in goal.

Other than that all makes sense!

i just think we might try sankofa at cb which i think is his prefered position and try out a different partnership at the back. maybe if he has a good game, he mite put pressure on the CB's to perform week in week out.

I can see a mixed bag being used. After two hard games a extended rest period will do some good. Others who are coming back from injury like Maaca wil be used to gain match fitness. Obv with Fed and Kanu not being able to play then changes will def be made. I will go for

Middy
Herd
Clarke
Barrett
Francis

Scannell
Macca
Grant
Betsy

Laurent
Furlong/Walker/Barney

I have dropped revs as think, judging by wht i have read, he has ran his socks off last two games and maybe a extended rest will keep him fresh. Laurnet needs to play to progress with his match fitness. As for his partner depends on Barney's injury. If he is back in full training he may start. If not one of the other two will to keep sharp.

Sankofa was REALLY bad when he played at CB earlier in the season after (I think) Barrett had to go off. Much rather see him at RB.

We have to make enough changes due to the unavailability of players, I think changes for any other reason apart from injury would be un wise . Also I would not like to motivate the opposition by giving the impression that we think are capable of beating them even with a weakened team.
Joyce / Mildy (If Mildy is Fully fit)
Sankofa Barrett clarke Francis
Scannell Macca Grant Betsy
Laurent Revs
Subs . t'other Keeper, Herd, Walker Furlong O Keefe

Worrying how weak we look without our loan players... be interesting to see what price Telford are to beat us?! Could be good odds... I may have a small bet just in case it happens!!!

Think i would go -

Mildy
Sankofa
Clarkey
Barrett
Herd
Scannell
Macca
Grant
Forshaw
Furlong
Walker

Would have a strong bench though just in case it all goes pear shaped. Think it is going to be a hard game and would take a 1-0 win now

should be tasty..macca and christophe.....need 2 midfielders on the bench..i feel a red card coming on Saturday

Much rather see him shipped out! Awful defender, unbelievable that he is our only back up! Tilson needs to sort this out in January or once again disappointment in May.

Think Telford will do a number on us. Would fancy Shrimperzone FC to knock a few past our current defence.

Good news about Christophe. Think midfield, front 2 & keeper pick themselves bearing in mind the situation with the other loanees.
Keeper: Mildenhall
Midfield: Scannell, Macca, JCF, Betsy
Strikers: Revell, Laurent

defence is where the big questions lay. Most likely Tilly will go for a more consistent look with Sankofa RB, Clarke, Barrett & Francis LB. But there are options if he wants to shake things up and give others a chance. There is Herd waiting for his chance at LB, Grant can play RB (or even CB), Barrett can move to LB. Myself I'm really not sure what I'd do.

for me,

play 3 5 2 ,pack the middle with macca and christopohe and keep 2 up top AT ALL TIMES hence telford will keep 3 or 4 defenders back which means any telford attack will be outnumbered.

Did we not try that in the cup at Oxford away last year? Or was it just 1 up front that day for some reason? I remember we changed tactics & did not play very well.

Dear God do not bring that game up again. Not Tilly's finest hour, Morgan and Gower as our strikers.

I still just cannot comprehend why it doesn't look like Sawyer can play. Very odd.

Mildenhall

Sankofa
Clarke
Barrett
Francis

Scannell
McCormack
Christophe
Betsy

Laurent
Revell

Subs (with the new 7 sub rule):

Joyce
Grant
Walker
Furlong
Herd
Ademeno
O'Keefe

Although personally, I'd bring in Herd but I can't see Tilly being brave and doing it.

perhaps he is in the shop window for january and he may be less attractive to a Championship club in the January Window if he is cup tied ?
