This is what Tilson has said on the Offical site.....

Steve Tilson admitted that Southend United will look back on several missed chances to have got something out of the game following a 1-0 defeat at home to Yeovil.

The Blues chief saw his team spurn a number of opportunities, particularly after the break, as he reflected on a lack of a cutting edge needed in the final third.

"It was a frustrating afternoon, but we had the chances to get something from this game," said Steve.

"Yeovil scored early on, but they haven't really tested us from that point.

"We needed to show more of an edge in attack and unfortunately, we just haven't been clinical enough in front of goal.

"Their goalkeeper has made a number of goal saves and it is a disappointing day for us.

"Yeovil had to play most of the second half with 10 men, but I'm not sure if that helped us.

"They played with a lot of men behind the ball and it became hard to break them down.

"We had a good result at Leyton Orient on Tuesday night and we were looking to build on that today, but conceding after just six minutes is never going to help.

"We have a very tough game at Leeds on Tuesday night, but we have to go there positive that we can get something out of the match."
Point 1. not sure if them going down to 10 helped us??? WELL WE SHOULD BLOODY WELL MAKE IT HELP US, USE IT TO OUR ADVANTAGE!!

Point 2. GOOD RESULT AGAINST ORIENT?!?!?!? GOOD RESULT!!?!? just **** off with that comment right out the door! it was a shambles against Orient just come out and admit it Tilson.

Point 3. Why cant you Tilson just come out and say my players were crap today from start to finnish! ADMIT WHEN YOU ARE WRONG DONT KEEP TREATING US LIKE MUGS!!!

Point 4. you all wonder why some people are getting on Tilsons back well when you get stupid pathetic excuses like this then it makes him look stupid!

Point 5. Lets get behind the boys up at Leeds please and try and save the season somehow!!

Agree with most of that. Orient were one of the worst teams I've seen this year and a draw against them is not a good result...

To say "the opposition going down to 10 men didn't help us" is one of the most ridiculous comments a manager can make. They have LESS players than us, the manager should now how to make thats extra man count.

I guess in public doesn't want to slag his team (even though they may in part or in whole deserve it!) but I am sure he is giving them a good talking to behind closed doors... Or at least I really hope he is! There is a few who need a rocket up their arse!

It's a post match interview, the only reason it exists is to fill copy and internet pages. It doesn't say anything, it never does, it never should.

No manager worth their salt is ever going to come out and say "my team were crap today". You can imagine the furore if he did, there would be all sorts of accusations of dressing room splits, etc etc. In fact it would be akin to us booing our own players. It's simply a no no.

I reckon anyone of us could pen pretty much what Tilson's comments are after every defeat and not be that far out. I wouldn't get too worried about what he says.

I am more worried about the lack of activity in the transfer window.

My god I can't belive it.... agree with one of your posts, despite you being a Euro Sceptic and having two French, Belgian and Irishmen in our squad.

I bet Barry Fry in his heyday with us, would have told a few truths both on and off the pitch.
Im sure off the pitch Brush let rip with a few home truths, but remember how will this sound when we have loanees in the team, who Tilson may want to keep, if he keeps barking on how crap we are, not good for team moral which must be an all time low.

Donot know how Ron feels really about Tilson, but with a vote of confidence ( Hopefully its 100 %), then at least players like Barrett, Clarke, Herd with feel happy, once Tilly goes, I am sure others will follow and then we will be further in the mire.

Donot get me wrong, there is massive problems on and off the pitch, but sacking the manager isnot an option yet in my eyes. Studies have proven you sack the manager results improve short term but overall its remains constant with the previous team. Basically the law of averages state you will win a couple on the spin after a dreadful run of results, hence why bookies love the punter who feels he cannot lose and allways chasing the big payout.
