Adebayor - how did he suddenly become a £30,000,000 player?

Sorry, did I miss something? A few goals last season... sure... but given that he had the most creative midfield in the league barring one team behind him and a season beforehand of mediocrity, how on earth did he garner this much publicity and interest from the big 10 teams???

Arsene Wenger is a shrewd businessman indeed...

Because the transfer market is ****ed up

Gareth Barry an £18million player? I don't think so.

If Wenger can get that money he should let him go. The bloke scored a few last season but if I recall correctly they included a hat trick against Derby and a few other "easy" wins. When Arsenal lost Eduardo and needed Adebayor to step up, I think he went two months without a league goal.
Over rated - by himself.

He had one good season and now he thinks he's a superstar.

With the ridiculous amounts of money clubs spend on players these days.

I'd say he's worth £20 - £25 mil

He actually got 2 hat tricks against Derby I think, home and away

I do. Want to know Barry's pass completion rate in an England shirt? It's around the 80% mark. If Michael Carrick is worth £16m, then Barry is worth at least £20m. A midfield comprising of Mashcherano, Gerrard and Barry is possibly the most complete midfield you'll see.

As for Adebayor, he's certainly worth a fair amount of money, but £30m is through the roof considering David Villa is available for around the £18m mark.

I no some people will disagree but i'd pick Barry over Lampard any day of the week

The transfer market has gone a bit silly again, BUT Adebayor is a beast of a footballer. Strong, quick, powerful and a decent eye for goal. He's no Drogba, but then Drogba is probably the best player in the Country.
