Adam Barrett

Rayleigh boy

Director⭐
two things about Adam.....

1/ his boots .... thought Mr. Foran was the leading light in the lets wear ****e boots brigade but Mr. Barratt seems to very fond of a retro pair of Pumas - or
am I mistaken ....

2/ was rocked back on his heels for the goal against Cheltenham - its been mentioned before Sir Adam ..... stay on your toes -

so looking forward to one of his goals soon - preferabley against Forest ....

Richie Foran wore Adidas Copa Mondials or World Cups... probably the best boots ever made (as worn by beckenbauer, Kaka and me!). They definitely aren't sh*te, just normal leather and traditional. Barrett wears Puma Kings... which are up there with the Adidas's, just better for people with wider feet.

i want Kakas new AdiPURES!

Agree 100% with point 2. Despite Clareky getting robbed for possesion the Cheltenham winger should never have been allowed to get that cross in.

Point 1, not sure what he's wearing now but start of the season I think he was wearing Puma V-Konstrukts.

Gorgeous aren't they? The white ones look better though for some reason (as worn by Fat Frank). Had a look at them in the shop the other day & the leather used on them makes then so light (however I do wonder if these modern light boots are the reason for so many metatarsal injuries?)

yep just looked at the pic online and it seems Barrett has those V-Konstrukts.

Yeah they are nice in white but look a little bit like golf shoes. I'll stick with black and avoid a kicking! I think that all boots now don't really offer much protection, especially at the top of the boot and so whether you're wearing Copas or the new Mercucials there is still that risk. Players won't go back to wearing heavier boots and so it's up to the manufacturers to try to continuously come up with new materials that are light and strong.

Copa Mudials/World Cups are a brilliant boot, no matter what I try I always seem to come back to these. Mercurials are ok if your playing at a good level but offer no protection for the sunday league footballer!

yeah agreed my Mercurials were really comfy and decent on good pitches, but mud stuck to them really easily and they only lasted one season before the sole started coming away and there was a small tear on the side. all about the copas and WCs!

also Martin Taylor was wearing WCs when he did Eduardo! a real mans boots!

Puma kings are the best boots end of all these coloured boots are just 5hite, banned my son from having coloured boots last year

He is due a goal is our Adam, at a guess I would say this could be his longest period of not scoring sinse becoming a Southend player?

A third thing you can't spell Barrett.

I suspect that the trend towards ever lighter boots that provide no protection to the foot whatsoever is at least partly to blame for the 'broken metatarsal' fad. Give me a well put together, cushioned pair of boots anyday.

Brainwave thought that could help Adam's finances and pay for his boots - why doesn't he paint some advertising on his head? Doubt if it's illegal, and indeed maybe it could be a whole new income stream for those who are challenged in the mullet dept. You heard it hear first. Ten per cent of all profits to me please.:dim:
