A waisted talent

fbm

Blue tinted optimist⭐🦐
This is the headline on page 92 of todays Daily Mail, which accompanies a 3/4 page article on Ricketts and how he has fallen from grace. There is a big picture of him against Gt Wakering and also a cartoon dedicated to him.

It also states his weight when he signed for us... 16 stone and 4lbs.

In the article, whilst interesting, there's nothing we didn't really know or suspect already but a friend says that he is currently "doing nothing", but "he deserves another chance elsewhere".

Yeah, right...

Yeah, right...
Walsall offered him that chance and he turned it down!

And why does he deserve that chance?

Oh well... that's what friends are for (if I understand you right and you are quoting a quote in the newspaper made by a friend of Ricketts and not a comment made by a friend of yours).

Rubbish. You only deserve something if you earn it.
Rickets had the opportunity to make a name for himself at Southend. He could of been the bloke knocking Manure out of the Carling cup and looking forward to playing at Spurs but he obviously thought he was better than that.
It seems this bloke has got exactly what he does deserve, which is of course nothing.

just read it - good article I thought

All his previous managers have questioned his 'love of football' ( or lack of it )

I think Tilly & Brush would have to put this one down to experience

What did his agent say?

Somthing like "No disrespect to Southend bit Michael will be back in three weeks at a much higher level than this" or very similar.

Shame - I was genuinely excited when I first heard he was signing.

I think everybody was excited except for Ricketts himself. Does anybody think he was really injured for that amount of time or was Tilly just trying to get his fitness back up in this time?

Its his own fault he had a good chance with us, and chose not to take it. Speaking of Ricketts how long before that picture goes from the front page?

Well written article, and just shows how quickly players who seem to have it all, simply throw it all away.

16 stone professional footballer? Should be ashamed of himself...

Exactly - and let him rot as far as I'm concerned.

Fine line between love and hate.
Michael Ricketts - I loved you man!
You were my hope, my dreams...

Okay... I'll go now.

no sh!t sherlock!

Seeing him at Chelmsford was like watching some Sunday Morning player who'd had a big fry up before playing.

Of course, otherwise it would be "wasted".

How much were we paying him all these months while he was just taking the P*ss out of us!!!!!!!!?

I remember being so excited when he signed, we all were.

but seeing him at wakering, left a lot to be desired...

..."we suggest a diet!!"
