A song.

Where art thou Tes 🦐
Whats a song that you really rate, that you get excited about when you hear it?

For me, it's gotta be Oasis - Wonderwall, as theres many memories attached to this singing it out in the cold with a few mates and his acoustic guitar. Such an iconic song, just oozes class.

I've set the ball rolling, would like to hear some classic songs or even some normally unthought of songs, I may post up another iconic song later :p

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley. Ever since I first heard it as a 7/8 year old I have loved it, the intro, his voice, the way he holds that note at the end, its just amazing song.

Wish You Were Here - Incubus. First heard it when I was in year 10 or 11 at school, it just takes me back to that time when the most you have to worry about is whether its worth changing into your trainers at break time or scuff up your school shoes playing football. It makes me smile whenever I hear it and brings back good memories.

A few of mine that have that effect on me. In no particular order, although The Alarm, Big Country or Damned would be the main contenders:

Big Country - Chance (especially if Live)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdTxDTikm3c

Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock of a Bay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzrXc68gNjQ

The Pixies - Debaser
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUd48jRKzBo

Radiohead - Street Spirit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrZTNhW44-o

Morrissey - Suedehead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR5LS_LAnWw

Damned - New Rose

The Alarm - 68 Guns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apERyZlTUZU

Plenty to pick at there!!

Probably "Follow You, Follow Me" by Genesis but I also love "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)" by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, that's one to cheer me up no matter when I hear it.

Good life - Inner City.

Pacific - 808 State.

New Life - Depeche Mode.

Computer Love - Kraftwerk.

The Boy with the thorn in his side - The Smiths.

Sadly, I had this song ruined for me by a comedian. Well, not ruined, but now every time I hear that unmistakeable guitar riff, instead of "Beetlebum", I hear the words "You touch your mum..."

 :finger:

It was one of those really "on the edge" gags, where the comedian picked on a couple in the audience where the woman was, obviously, a couple of years older than her bloke. A pretty uncomfortable minute or so for them, but f***ing hysterical for the rest of the audience.

"You touch your mum
On her bum.
It was fuuuuun...
It made you come,
You touch your mum!"

 :hilarious:
