A Quiz Night in memory of canveyshrimper. "Somebody is going to get spanked"

This isn't to do with SUFC I know but I want maximum exposure for it so you will all have to bare with me.

On the 13th of September last year our dear friend canveyshrimper passed away. Somebody said on that sad day that we should have a Quiz night in his honour but at that time, which was very difficult for a lot of us it didn't seem right.

I am now thinking perhaps the time is right as a year has nearly passed by.. I have not set a date for this yet as I really want this to be a "Special night". It will be after a home match over the next month or so in The Shrimpers bar if it is big enough.

We will have our old team minus H sadly, ..and the usual suspects from those days will no doubt join us.


I would therefore ask those that are interested in entering a team of 8 for this night or would like to join a team to please add your names to this thread.

ps You'd have appreciated Hank's shirt on Saturday - he might not have realised it but it was the answer to a question at one of the quizzes we did with Harry.

I believe Tinks still has a few pounds left over from the original monies donated so kindly by you all which we are going to use at for a plaque one day for him maybe if we ever get a new stadium...

Hopefully we can stretch to a small trophy as well for the winners of the Quiz in his honour and we can have an annual quiz in future.

Trust have moved their one from 7th due to our host being unavailable that night so there's potential for that date certainly. It's moved to 28th, so 14th might be another date you consider.

I'd like to be included if possible. Me and Harry had a lot of quizzing in common, plus I often used to give him lifts home after them.

I've just realised that the next Saturday home game after Morecambe is not until 23 November! Crikey!

Well, I don't talk to Rich now and Scott has moved further away and has a new baby so it might be difficult for him. Paul might possibly be persuaded though.
