A Chap called Trigg
Pulled a few tricks
Which turned out quite big
In a pub called the Boar
He rallied some chaps
And created a roar
Which still doesn’t lapse
The Shrimpers were founded
To play at the Hall
Enthusiasm unbounded
For men and football
A century later
And times have got tough
A financial crater
Was almost enough
For their lives they fought
Against massive odds
When many had thought
They would see no more squads.
The crisis seems past
After mental fatigue
Now lets hope for a fast
Return up the league
