A couple of new players to consider

Simbo

Newbie
Liverpool have just released 5 youngsters, 2 of which i think would be good additions to our squad. Ramon Calliste is a Welsh under 21 striker. Very pacey and athletic. Ive seen a fair few Liverpool reserve games and he has been a regular fixture in that team. Scored a few goals and looks a good prospect. Was on Man Uniteds books before joining Liverpool.

Another one is Robbie Foy. He's a Scottish under 21 and spent a few months on loan at Wrexham. Hes a winger and i believe he can play either side. Question marks over whether he's good enough for the Championship but could be a good squad player.

I really think Calliste would be an excellent addition. Any way of letting Sir Stevie of Tilson know?

If there are, as you say, question marks over whether he's good enough for the Chanpionship how can he be a good squad player? Surely with the resources we have we need every player to be good enough for the Championship?

I have signed him for Southend United on FM2006. Banged in 15 goals in 22 games so far (3 as sub). We must sign him!

With regards to Foy i think its his consistency which could be the problem. Im sure there are players currently in our squad who you doubt are good enough for the step up? Ok its a bit different as they are current players and have earned the right at a shot at the Championship, but on his day i think Foy would do a good job at that level and we all know that Tilly can get the best from his players.

My flat mate is a Liverpool fan and regularly gets copies of reserve games from a friend of his...hence the reason why ive seen a few as well.

We have all been calling for a target man upfront to play alongside Freddy...someone similar to Goater. Calliste isnt that type of player but if him and Freddy hit it off we would have an explosive partnership upfront.

Liverpool also have a number of talented youngsters who im sure would be available on loan. Adam Hammill springs to mind, his playing style is very similar to Gerrard and he has a bright future. Paul Anderson is a tricky winger, Liverpool fans have been calling for him to be given a shot in the first team. He is only 17 and will be a star of the future! Surely it couldnt do any harm to ask?

Calliste almost signed for col u last summer bu liverpool came in, he hasn' played for them and from he reserve highlghts i've seedn he is a donkey and league 1 is probably he right level for him.

Would be great to get some liverpool youngsters down, but seriously, they will more likely stay up north being loaned to teams such as Chester, Wrekhem or crewe. We should really be looking at youngsters looking for experience from london teams such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Charlton etc

thats the way I always think! Fm knows all, we should sign kyle Swayne, future england number 3 striker who bagged alot of goals in our uefa cup runners up season, we lost 4-3 to Ajax, gudjonson getting a hat trick for us. It was not enough though!

Yes anyway, taking a risk on youth could be a good idea. They might not want to move so far away though from liverpool?

Its a doubt whether they'd want to come but all you can do is ask. Im sure you could have said the same about Ronnie Whelan and Steve Harkness!

I Reckon we should stick to Home county players, as Sir Steve Tilson knows once they get left on the bench they always get home sick.... also most dont give a toss about playing for Southend United and only interested in pulling a massive Salary

Just look at the players Steve has signed all local boys who
want to play for their local side with proud... examples llike Mark Tinkler great player but never really settle down here

just look at Freddy n Barratt for example not only them but their familys are proud/happy for them to play for the mighty Shrimpers

Foy was awful for Wrexham when I went up there. Then again, Orient walked all over the whole team, so maybe that's not a fair reflection on the lad.

When I read about Youngsters being released by Prem clubs I can't help thinking of , Richie hanlon, Andy Harris, Adrian Clarke, Nicky Nic etc.

Kevin Maher aside have we had anyone how has been released by a prem club as a youngster and come straight to us and been a success ?

Seriously though, any signings we are likely to make, will be players who are based down south!
