Ah, I've been waiting to do this for a long time.

Just before the World Cup we happy few here at Icons.com were tasked with creating a new football podcast. We were given a little bit of budget to make a pilot episode of something that would hopefully get snapped up by a big sponsor.

We've put Barry Fry and Ian Holloway in a studio and told Di Stewart to go in there and try and maintain some kind of order. Whether she succeeded or not is down to you.

It's a pilot episode, so there's a few cuts in there to move it along a bit. We're just trying to show the potential of the idea, rather than make a stand-alone product.

It's a bit out of date for the first two minutes, but stick with it for the whole 13mins to hear Barry Fry's motivational speech, Ian Holloway's 'military two-step' and Di Stewart's concerns for Steve McClaren.

And if you happen to have a few thousand pound lying about in your marketing budget, drop me a line and we'll talk.

Incidentally, that gravelly-voiced spanner saying, "In association with Icons," is me. I had to smoke a lot of cigarettes to get that voice....

Di Stewart is probably the most wonderful woman that I've ever met. When she smiles, the world becomes a much more beautiful place. Birds start sing, the sun comes out, Birmingham fans stop hitting each other. It's amazing.

I haven't yet, Tony. We're a bit dubious about going to the radio stations in case they nick it, or try and take creative control.

What we really want to do is have a big company say, "Here's some money, make us one of those every week with our name on it."

It's tricky because all the people who have heard it so far have said, "it's great, but it's not really the right brand image for the company."

I'm just about to stick it on iTunes and then I'm going to leave a link to it everywhere I can. Hopefully, if enough people hear it and like it, it'll end up being played to someone who can make it a regualr feature.

It's amazing how quickly sceptical minds change when something goes viral.

I really want it to work, not least because I want to be in the same room as Di again.
