Great news for all those people who are fed up with buying a calendar only to find out by June that half of the players illustrated, no longer play for us.
We are participating in a Coca Cola League initiative whereby the monthly pics will be interchangeable. Thus, if a player leaves for or joins from another league club, you will be able to swap and thus finish the year with a calendar which 100% (or nearly) Southend United.
There will be a central exchange site wwwcocacolacalendarexchange.com
where you will be able to send the months illustrating players no longer with us and replacing them with our new arrivals.
The only down side to this is that the monthly sheets will be in neutral grey, for obvious reasons and only the cover of the calendar will be in blue.
I suppose that this is a small price to pay for a Calendar that is not out of date virtually as soon as you put it on the wall. Oh, and of course to allow for a system that permits the changing of the leaves it is going to cost a £1 more!
