20 Points more for a play off spot?

BARNETBLUE

First XI
Read in the Echo last week Tilly reckons 70 points will make a play of spot.

On the face of it this doesn't look massively daunting as it represents 50% of points available.Win our remaining 7 home games and we would do that(Agreed thats unlikely

I think 70 points is probably at the lower end of what would be needed, but after todays great great result, we have lost once in 8 league games and all of a sudden we are one of the divisions form teams!

The team is certainly more exciting and dangerous since the winter transfer signings. Forwards who can actually score - Walker & Barnard seem to be great Tilly signings AGAIN.

What a great manager(s) we have - long may they reign. :)

Yeah i read that and i think we'll make the play-offs

Not sure if we have what it takes for automatic spot now, especially now there is only one available. Swansea are dead certs for automatic. Its going to be a really tight run in. We need to nick points off all our rivals (something we failed to do last year) if we are to make automatic, which I dont fancy us to do so I think play off spot will be our best bet. Sadly I dont think it will be our year even if we do make the play offs but time will tell I guess.

Yeap think we will however the teams around us dont seem to be dropping to many points themselves.

It's the top end of the league - everyone's here because they tend to win more than they lose. If we break the 70 point mark we have a chance and with our inconsistent team we'll stand a good chance of winning and losing any playoff game.

Today's result, albeit against a team off form, is a very impressive performance at this stage. Injecting goals as we've done with Barnard is invaluable.

With 2 winnable games vs Cheltenham and Luton we could be in the playoffs before we then have to face forest and Swansea at home.

If we could get 4 points out of those 2 Id be over the moon, Swansea look unstoppable at the moment though.

If im honest, I would be happy with 3 points from those 2

IMO 74 points is the points total we will need to get a play off spot, which being simplistic is 8 wins from our remaining 13 games. If we narrow the last 13 down we have to play 5 teams in the top 6, Swansea, Forest, Walsall at home & Carlisle & Tranmere away. I hope we can achieve a play off spot, but realistically I think we have lost too many games to make it. Hope I'm wrong.

Which goes back to what I said earlier in the season about not drawing enough games over the last two seasons, and that being what makes the difference. It cost us last year, and it could do again this.
