1st July Transfer Window Opens

Don't forget guys & gals the transfer window does not open until the 1st. July.

We can ONLY sign players on at the moment that have been released from their contracts by their previous clubs, or who are already free agents.

We hopefully will then start spending some money and sign more quality players to add to our squad. we may have players lined up ready to sign, but this can not happen until 1st. July.

We just have to have faith in Ron, Tilly, & Brushy to bring in the right players when the window opens.

I'm pleased with the signings. We've let 5 go on a free, but have brought in 3 on a free and signed one for a fee. Good work for me, Furlong seems like a shrewder signing every time I think about it.

Hopefully we'll sign Grant and Mulgrew (although anything more then 200k is extortionate). Another centre back, 2 wingers and a centre mid, with a striker (Kanu please) in on loan.

I'd forgotten about the transfer window restrictions completely. I suppose the transfer listing makes a lot more sense but the reluctance of listed players to sign contracts makes it look unlikely we'll be keeping those players.

True. Technically, Walker isn't our player until the 1st of July because we are paying a fee for him, whereas the other guys have been brought it on frees.

Can anyone find this rule on the football league website (or some other official site) - I can only find the transfer window opens on the last day of the season. Thanks

Correct BB, under contract players can be signed now, their registration moves to the new club on 1st July.

I think the idea of a "transfer window" is more important in the open season when players cant move until 1st Jan whereas in the close season, it is more of a technicality

Is there a list of last season's sponsors anywhere other than a matchday programme? I am under impression that we don't have much to spend as the majority is going towards the stadium - but i need to confirm my source before I understand the validity of some of the things that were mentioned to me.

Think that the sponsorship this year will be the same as last year with Insure an go as main shirt sponsor etc and haart as small shirt sponsor and the match days sponsored as when the games come up. Plus all the other sponsorship (ie) programmes ad boards etc.

Yes sure - sorry for the lack of information. I was just having a chat with a chap yesterday but I am not sure exactly of his identity. He informed me of some information with regards to how much we might be spending this summer and some 'probable' transfer targets. I know he sponsored a specific player last year and I was wondering if there was a list of the players' sponsors? I wanted to find out if I recognised the name - I more or less know his background but I thought I would find out if it is in anyway reliable. I am never one to listen too much about transfer targets but I think he may have had a point about how much we would be spending.
