15 goals against

We really MUST work on our defending especially at home.
15 goals let in over the past 5 home league games, 9 to teams who will probably also struggle long-term in this division.

This is not going to turn into a Tilson Out thread, anybody who suggestes that should take a long hard look at themselves and question why they bothered to attend games whilst we were successful if they can't hack it when we're plainly out of our depth.

However, I fail to see why we do not adopt a "dull keep it tight and try & nick one" mentality for at least the next few games to get the confidence back. We just don't have the quality to score 4 or 5 every game so we need to get the goals against column right down.

As I've said before over the past couple of weeks, it's simple what needs to be looked at, loans in, one or 2 decent players in during the Jan window and an experienced old head who can advise T&B on tactics & coach out our shortcomings.

Face it, we might even now need to build for next season. I certainly don't want to freefall 2 divisions again, especially after all the hard work of the past 3 years!

Gutted, but WE ALL NEED to help the team through this. Criticising & moaning WILL NOT help!

Yes, i agree. Probably the most sensible post in the aftermath of Hull so far.

15 goals in 5 home games simply isn't good enough. Especially conceding three to a side who were bottom of the league before last night.

I think we have been trying that. That is why Clarke and Francis were pushed into midfield.

Yeah, but look at the 1st goal on Saturday. Huge gaps in defence. Could be argued that it was a great cross-field pass that found the back 4 half-asleep but to me as somebody mentioned on another thread this morning, how many of our goals against have a similar "comedy defending" edge to them?

3-3 Norwich H
0-3 Cardiff H
2-3 Coventry H
1-3 Ipswich H
2-3 Hull H

C'mon. At least give a hand to their consistency. How many teams are that consistent these days?

Is it a club record?
Have we ever been as slack at the back?
Stattos, answers on a postcard please

I think it looks quite good all lined up together like that. I kind of want them to see how many game they can do it for just so I can say "I was there!"

Obviously, this is a joke...
