Took over an hour to get to Basildon, loads of police looking for someone at Southend central then it all kicked off before Benfleet when one of the carriages got it's windows smashed in. Anyone got any more details? I hear West Ham may have been involved!

Yes, I was on that train. Lots of Shammers at Southend Central station singing "Bubbles" (idiots) and then the train was held up due to the police looking for someone (took 20 minutes).

When I got back to Benfleet, a few idiots were fighting on the platform. CI-City Blue made a sharp exit, and went home...

I was on there too, and from what I understand it was West Ham fans still having aggro with some Arsenal fans.

They obviously couldn't stand the fact that we had something to celebrate, and if they supported the right team, they would have had too - so they decided to kick off I guess.

Idiots

Luckily Chipper and I missed all the shennanigans by getting there just in time for the 22.45.  It was extremely pleasing to see 2 teenagers get off at Benfleet station, resplendent in red Man ure shirts, sloping off, heads down.

As it goes, when we all got on at central station, a passenger disembarking asked them what the score was.  The lack of response and sullen faces on those two brought a broad smile to said passenger, who then laughed when I said Southend won 1-0.  "I'm not a football fan as such", he said, "but ......" and chortled off into the night.

You get a better class of people on the 22.45.  We tend to leave the riff-raff to the 23.15.
