    Kent Elms Corner

Wonderful news! They contractors for SBC have started work on the foundations for a new pedestrian bridge over the KE junction. The electronic traffic news boards are stating that the east bound A127 lane will be closed at some point so just when I was getting used to no hold-ups the misery...

Question Who was one of the 20 or so shrimpers who made the Grimsby away game 19th Dec 1989

After two attempts to play the game were thwarted by a waterlogged pitch and the next time it being fog bound very few of us could get the time off or be bothered to actually go. Who will own up and join me in admitting to have nothing better to do than go and watch us get beaten in dreary...

    A127 Kent Elms traffic

If you're using the A127 to come to Roots Hall today............ at the moment Kent Elms Corner, London bound is down to one lane up to the lights and traffic is heavy. I don't know if the same is true Southend bound but its probably sensible to assume that it is also chocker.

    Pardew Sacked by Palace .......

So, this is bound to be mentioned on here at some point.. So thought I would get in there and start a thread on the dubious and nonsensical rumours that usually arise when a manager in the English game is sacked and a position becomes available... I'm not saying brown is in the running for...

Muhammad Ali: Boxing legend dies aged 74

Absolutely tragic news, but no real surprise as Parkinson's Disease was bound to complicate any illnesses he got eventually. A legend for me and he will be truly missed. Rest in peace Muhammad. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16011175
  7. US Presidential election thread

OK - I think we need a thread that doesn't specifically focus on Trump, and we also need a thread with a few ground rules. I'm not sure why but I always tend to get quite involved with the US elections (and US politics in general). This year's election is bound to be fascinating, and you can...

    Pre-Match Thread Southend v Millwall

After the euphoria of yesterday, it's easy to forget we have another big game tomorrow. There's bound to be some tired legs so will Phil make some changes? My guess is the side will line up as follows: Bentley White Thompson Barrett Coker Worrall Leonard Atkinson McLaughlin Mooney Pigott...

A Bit of Fun Ron and the mystery green folder

Just had the pleasure of sharing a train platform at Rayleigh (London-bound) with our glorious leader as he joined the rest of us plebs on public transport. He had with him a tatty green that had seen better days, yet was not bulging. His hair wasn't looking its best given the...

    General Boxing Thread

To save filling up the fight of the year thread with off topic stuff I thought I would start this. Interesting GBJ your views on AJ, I thought from what I've seen albeit he has had some pretty easy fighters but he looks the business and will go onto be one of the best heavyweights in the world...

    Harry On Up The Table

What a turnaround! Tottenham Hotspur, who accumulated just two points in over two months with Juande Ramos, have now racked up seven in the last seven days and you can put them all down to the Harry Redknapp factor. The former Portsmouth boss has put a spring in Spurs' step and after two...
  13. Millwall away or a Lords final?

I know its a bad show and all that, but been to Millwall 7 or 8 times before and am seriously considering a jolly day out at Lords for the Essex v Kent final. Anybody else facing the same predicament or are you all 'loyal' fans? The bad/good news is that based on past performances if I go to...

    Micheal Morrison

Morrison on the Move Posted on: Mon 30 Jun 2008 Michael Morrison will sign for Leicester City tomorrow (Tuesday), joining the former Premiership club who were relegated from the Championship to League One at the end of last season. The 20-year-old moves in exchange for a transfer fee that must...

C2C problem again, not sure if it's gonna be a major one.....

Dont know if it's going to be a major one or not, just got a message off Mr Vange Shrimper and he's stuck on the train at Chalkwell (Southend bound) as the train in front has broken down. He got on the train at Pitsea at 7.26 and he's only just found out the reason why. In normal time, it...

    Watermill Pick Up

Right, who's getting on at this stop? And just to get it right (as i've never got on at the Watermill before), it's the bus stop immediately after the Felmores roundabout, A127 bound, isn't it?

    Carlisle Trip - A Question

Help please for any useful hints. No. 1 Junior Suffolk Shrimper and me are going to travel up to the Lake District the day before and camp there, returning back to Suffolk on Sunday. On the 'permission slip' for getting the prodigal off school for a day I sold it on the idea of it being an...

    Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho could be Man City bound. He may be having an off season but surely he could aim higher than that!! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3396813,00.html Would be some signing in my opinion as long as he can put his football head on and not think he is bigger than the team...
