Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Thread - Summer 2025 Edition.

Transfer news
Agreed. That’s one thing we are missing. We are too nice at times. We are starting to learn the dark arts now (Bonne is great at this) but where’s that horrible ******* who is a borderline walking red card at times.

I'm not sure Bonne is even with the club.

My understanding is that he was offered a low paying contract and has now gone to seek other another club.

Not sure if the door is open should he not find anywhere

David Tutonda had another year left on his contract at Morecambe, but was allowed to walk away from his contract and sign for Rochdale for free under FA rules due to not being paid.

Bonne was our most effective forward last season with 10 goal contributions and yet you ate happy to keep the rest?
He was out of contract. Played 40+ games and scored 4? goals.

He was probably one of our highest earners and we probably offered him a contract that matched his numbers.

The others are still under contract. Had they been out of contract, and Bonne in contract, then maybe it’s the other way around.

Maybe he has a great season and scores 30 goals. But Kev & co have to make a decision based on today’s info. If they were offering him high end money then more often than not that works out a poor decision. It doesn’t mean that someone else takes that chance.

They do. They have to make a decision on ALL the info, not just the cherry picked negative info you have.

That not only includes his total goal contributions as opposed to goals scored. It includes all the behind the scenes stuff none of us have any real knowledge of. Such as his influence on the rest of the squad, in particular the other strikers.

If that has led to them making an offer and entering a negotiation (not a take it or leave it) then I trust their judgement.

That doesn't mean they won't talk to other targets as well. I'm sure KM et al can multi-task.

Lets move Bonne on now. Thanks but not enough.
Bonne voyage? One play off game away to Rochdale demonstrates his worth, but there are plenty of others. The cross was no fluke, he looked across the box before he’d even got to the ball.

None of the forwards were prolific last season. I am confident that every one of them has the ability to hit double figures and this season at least one of them will be on fire. Management seem to agree otherwise he wouldn’t have an offer on the table.

Our focus must be to strengthen elsewhere, particularly centre back. If Bonnie doesn’t sign so be it. We won’t need another forward.

No id like to move on hopper and walked but the only one out of contract is Bonne. Just because he was slightly better he is still not going to get us out of this league

People are underestimating just how much of a player Bonne actually is

A very technical player with a great IQ for the game plus loads of experience

He will leave some very big shoes to fill, so recruitment needs to be spot on.
Would agree with this. Understand why we're trying to get a better deal with him, but I don't think he's a role (as much off the field as on it) which would be easy to replace any cheaper. I'm not sure our current squad has many 'technical' players like Bonne, maybe Noor and Morton.

That is all true too. Im sure their offer reflects his good attributes as well as his lack of goals.
