The days of me attending most home games are long gone.

I pick and choose games I attend and catch the other home and away games on radio with the occasional live stream.

If getting to a playoff final is turgid then perhaps it's not for you.

Yes, there were some poor games last year but overall I've seen far far worse in my 35 years of watching. It wasn't turgid.

The playoff run was brilliant and exciting but there were stretches last season where the football on show was definitely as described by the other poster. And I say that as a season ticket holder who will be renewing regardless

I agree that there were spells last season of absolutely dire games - particularly on Saturday afternoons. However when we nearly went bust I contemplated what Saturdays would be like without Southend and realise that the experience for me is about a lot more than than the performance on the pitch.

Sometimes it’s Discussing about the performance on the pitch and discussing what should be done to improve things. If I was only interested in watching fantastic football performances then I would have stopped watching Southend many years ago (or wouldn’t have even started in the first place!).

I’ve renewed because they’re my club and supporting them through thick and thin (mainly thin) is what I do, with dire spells of crab football I’ll moan like mad at the game and on here, and occasionally there will be moments of ecstasy too (like getting on the pitch at FGR). The highs and lows of being a Shrimper - bring on next season, whatever it has in store!

Yes it’s missing out on the highs which let’s face it have been in short supply following SUFC. It’s those moments which make all the pain (temporarily) worthwhile. My son said the FGR game, going on the pitch with the players, was the best football related experience of his life so far. That’s what it means. Besides if we get to Wembley again you’re guaranteed a ticket 😁

I agree. That’s precisely why I’m also renewing! But I see why others may be on the fence. We must just be mad.

Did optimistically go to the ticket office this afternoon to try to renew but as expected they have still not resolved the issue.

Hope they do soon as it is my intention to renew and do not want to try to do it online.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again… I really couldn’t give a monkeys on the quality of football. As long as we get three points that’s all I care about.
Don’t majority does though, remember under Sturrock? That was often winning football too.

So today I'm going to renew we want to move seats but will probably have to wait till July 2nd to do so. Is the ticket office accepting card payments now?

If the seats you want are available you can get them right now. It's only if you wanted to move to a seat that is currently reserved that you'd have to hold on and try your luck in a couple of weeks to see if it becomes available.
