Talking Shrimpers Podcast - COMING SOON!

Brilliant that we'll have a few going!

It's a new experience for us, and although we're offering something different, we've certainly taken inspiration from previous podcasts and have a lot of respect for them. Between us we'll have plenty of material going out, which is what the fans deserve in this new exciting era for the club. Looking forward to hearing the others again!

With such an eventful season and a ton of talking points why did the other podcasts stop?
The audience for 99% of podcasts is incredibly small and the chance to make money is even smaller. A lot of people start podcasts with lots of great intent and ambition - but the realities of creating a regular podcast and sticking to a schedule etc is actually really hard if nobody is listening and you're not making any money.

In the instance of the one being created now - I find it hard to get excited by a club-backed podcast especially one revealed by a divisive forum member. But who knows - one of the 5 hosts might be good!

I completely appreciate your post.

What takes the pressure off from me personally, is that it is not about money. I do well enough in life and this is about the love of the club. In fact, I've invested over £1000 in this project, of which I don't expect any return. It does as you suggest, take a lot of work. Much research has been done, and there is a regular schedule and format. I've also spoken at length with two members of COSU, who have been very supportive of what we want to do, but by no means have funded or been involved. Just moral support.

It's certainly not about me, and the cohosts have all been carefully selected with different skills. Some with podcast experience and media. They are not mates from down the pub, they have been put together for their skills and talents.

With regards to myself, of course I've not always ticked everyone's box, but that's simply natural. You can't be liked by everyone. What I have done, is taken a break on here, self reflected on other feedback and taken that on board. @Yorkshire Blue for instance, privately gave me some advise behind closed doors and I've listened to that. For those that don't support the project, that's fine. But give the team a chance to do a positive thing. I repeat, this is absolutely not about money, and any unlikely money we do make, will be going to charity.

Full respect Phil for putting this together.

I'm not expecting polished levels of podcasting on the scale of "The Rest is Football" or others. I just want a little podcast I can listen to every week or every other week (depending on your output) that's informative and engaging and about the club I support.

I get that I can come onto Shrimperzone and see what people though of the recent match / who had stinker / man of the match performance etc Sometimes its just nice actually listening to someone else.

Plus it gives me something to listen to on my way to work then.

Out of interest, in what? I think I bought a £15 gaming headset from Argos when we did ours lol.

Yea you don't have to spend out. I had the spare cash so invested in a decent mic, headphones and studio gear, plus subscriptions to music protection and podcast delivery platform.
