TV Highlights SUFC 0-1 Solihull Moors

People saying this was a cross and a low one 🤯That is a ****ing great finish. Gus should have been much tighter to his man though. No chance for Hayes on this one.

If you’ve ever played football before you’ll know that’s a cross, no power or conviction on the hit he’s trying to float it into a good area by the back post. You can see when he hits it he ‘stabs’ at it and doesn’t follow-through.

Normally I wouldn’t look into it this much but after that celebration I want no credit going his way.. done f**k all the rest of the game (yes im rattled).

As Paul Clark says right at the end of those highlights “what is it about Saturday 3pm kick offs?” At home, this is definitely a “thing”.

Shot or cross the keeper shouldn’t get done like that. Looked like their keeper had a good game

Think the keeper has to have a go at saving that shot, don’t think he actually knew where he was positioned for the goal, maybe hopper should of done better with his header, still all ifs and buts but the games was their for us to win especially at home.

Our play is so ponderous when we move forward. It's get the ball, look up; pass sidewards or back - and hope.
Taylor and Husin's shots apart, where was the threat?
Hayes looks surprised the ball has gone in.
That worries me.
If he thought it was going over, he's misjudged his position. If he thought it was dangerous, he's not doing anything about it.
But judged by the highlights, we missed out yet again on a Saturday at 3pm.

Hayes should have done better. He could see what the height and direction of that shot was going to be. A decent keeper would have used his feet and back peddled towards the back post area and make an effort to get a hand to the ball rather than remain static.

Not sure the goalkeeper could do much about that to be honest (which is different to what I thought yesterday).

Poor defending to allow the player to come in and get the shot/cross off.
Yes, he had too much space but Hayes should have attacked the ball and punched it away or adjusted his positioning, stepped back and tipped it over or caught it. You can’t stand there and do nothing. But he did make a good save later on, so it wasn’t all bad.

As soon as their 39 received the ball i was shouting get into him Gus, then watched as we give him the freedom of Roots Hall to score a worldy into the net. Looked to me like it was intended, the amount of time he was afforded to pick out that top corner unbelievable. I wasnt expecting Hayes to get to it from the moment it left the strikers boot.

And how one of our defenders didnt go straight through him at any point all game, after the 39 ran to us in the NB and was giving it proper, i will never know.

Just taking the **** isnt it.

It's surely got to be time goading of another side's fans must stop.
A yellow card minimum should be the penalty, because there will be a serious incident sooner or later.
I noticed a plastic (?) bottle hurled in his direction, but a glass one and a hit could take out an eye.
'Unsportsmanlike behaviour' is part of the laws, and a yellow can easily be applied.

2 young kids got kicked out for that. Think they was about 13.

Yes, not the first time we've seen this kind of goading this season. Refs are too lax. With a crowd the size of ours, that is dangerous and clear incitement.

This is a very weak minded team to say the least. If you, as a professional footballer, and can't up your game in front of 8600 fans, in an important game like that then you don't deserve to wear that shirt.

Two things summed it up for me which was when their sh1thouse striker gave it the big one on front of our fans, (total incitement btw and the pathetic ref should have booked him) he should have been given hell from our players in every way shame and form for being a cheeky pr1ck.

For me, anyone worth their salt would have nailed him first tackle to let him know what time is was but we just don't have that sort of character in the team which is needed in games against the likes of Solihull.

Secondly, what sort of tackle was that by Morton just before HT when their player pretty much walked through our midfield, forcing Hayes into a good save I mean it was like he was playing against a mate in pre season training ffs?.

I won't even get started on Maher's tactics who changes a winning formation (we made Oldham and Altringham look bang average) but the point I'm making is that these players aren't mentally and OR skilful enough to make the play offs it's clear to see.

How many times did we just give the ball away in the first half with sloppy passing, but when there is basically no movement off the ball from our players I suppose it can get frustrating in you are on the ball trying to do something (Parillion must have been pulling his hair out).

Kev and co probably do deserve a good go at it after a full pre season but the majority of the current players aren't worth a carrot, if we're going to get out of this god forsaken league of sh1thouse players and teams, who will always up their game when it comes to us.

That game was crying out for someone like Kendall to come in and get some movement off the ball but he brings on Miley and Walker?.

The fans have more than done their part but the players just aren't good enough I'm afraid.

The goal at the end of the Sutton game showed me that we're not going to be in the play offs because you need a certain mentality when it comes to the NL, and getting out of it.

I said on a number of occasions that these games against the lower league sides are going to be tricky and it's clear to see why.

Walker, Goodlife, Husin, Hopper and Bonne would be my first group to out but for some reason many of them are under contract until 2026.
