Is Golding near a return? Although to be fair Goodliffe has stepped up after his horror show against Boston.
And here is the issue Bonne couldnt finish a plate of chips generally

But will he be here next?FWIW, I’d be surprised if we saw him again this season.
Absolutely not!But will he be here next?
What’s the chances of 8k through the gate and comps on top of this ?
Imo, a win tomorrow and Braintree game will be bouncing
Was he very effective against Sutton? He was very effective verses Sutton, but he’s playing pretty much as a right winger. Which makes him less effective as a CF naturally. Seems happy to do it. (For the good of the team). Put some fantastic balls into the box but we lack players with the ability to get on the end of them (as we know). I note however he remains at or near the top of virtually every posters ratings. Which must mean something.
I think in part because with Gus as RB he gets forward way less and hence we need a wide rate attacking threat more…
Golding was on the bench last weekendKev said he was hopeful Golding would be fit before the end of the season.
FWIW, I’d be surprised if we saw him again this season.
That must have been his twin brother in the crowd having photos with the fansGolding was on the bench last weekend
no he wasn’tGolding was on the bench last weekend
I can think of 3 saves of the top of my head that the keeper made. The point blank header, the one on one from LCP and the other header he tipped onto the post. On another day we could and should of been 3-0 up.Was he very effective against Sutton?
Can we point to some tangible outputs to back this up?
My opinion was that as a team we created little. We scored first half from a set piece and whilst we controlled the game we created little else.
The stats seems to back this up as their keeper only made two saves all game and our xG was only 1.1. Of our chances the best one fell to Bonne who failed to bury it from 6 yards out. Per sofa score Bonne had zero key passes. I thought he got in some really good positions down the right but lacked the pace to stay away from his man. This meant his crosses were rushed and he didn’t have the time to look up and pick out a Southend player. You say players lack the ability to get onto the end of his crosses but they seem to have the ability to fairly regularly get onto the end of GSM, LCP and Morton’s crosses.
Whilst he has been creating space for Gus by hugging the right touchline, I didn’t think Gus had a particularly influential game either so he doesn’t seem to have been “very effective” there either.
As for ratings Bonne’s last 4 ratings on sofascore are all under 7. In contrast 4 of his previous 5 games were rated above 7.
This seems to back up what I’m seeing which is that with his heavier use (ie playing 90 minutes) he’s not as fresh and not as able to stay away from defenders. One of his best games was against Rochdale when he caused them all sorts of problems outpacing them down the right. But in that game he was fresher (he came off the bench in that game and in previous games). Compare that to the Sutton game and in particular when Coker played him in and he just didn’t have the pace to make it stick. There was another one after I think Woodyard had lost it when he just didn’t have the pace to get away to give him time to look up and pick a man out.
To get the most out of Bonne we need to keep him fresh. I’d be using him similar to how we used Bim where we have him on for an hour and then bring on fresh legs. The problem is that Kendall isn’t fit (and Walker isn’t such a good fit for the style of play we’re currently using and is low on confidence) so we haven’t been rotating them.
The same is true of Hopper. We need to keep him fresh.
We really need another forward, one who can hold the ball up but also with the pace to get behind.
But to keep the thread on track if Kendall is fit tomorrow I’m starting him in place of Bonne as I think we’ll get more out of Bonne with a lighter workload.
Should let him go in the summer and get a better finisher in. God knows we need oneExactly.
FWIW, I love his work rate, I love his enthusiasm and I generally think he makes our forward line better when he’s in the side. I understand he’s a really nice lad too. I’d definitely start him tomorrow and for the remainder of the season.
He just can’t score for ****. He could have had - comfortably - 10 goals this season, but even then I’m undercooking the figure.
I'd say very high chance.
Our support is different class
Well I am merely giving my view as someone at the game who saw him beat his man for pace on more than one occasion, and got a number of decent balls in the box. Re ratings I am talking about on here, again a number of whom will attend matches. Was he very effective against Sutton?

The hope is that given he has scored pretty regularly in the Championship and L1 ( the latter just 3 years ago) and prolifically at this level in the past at least we know he has it in him.Exactly.
