Return train and two night stay booked a few weeks back now, with match tickets bought on day of release. Both Mrs Templar and I have never spent any time in Newcastle, so an excuse, if one was needed, to check out anything worth seeing. Of course if there is something meaningful riding on our result, it really could be a bank holiday to remember too. She’s a keen Shrimper but apparently wants to visit the Metrocentre, whatever that is? !!!!

You can fly from Gatwick I think for about £100 return. Its an hour flight.

I've booked up a few days sunshine in Benidorm instead but will watch on my phone.

As all living relations are there and in the hinterland, enjoyed many a great holiday/stay over the years. How long are you staying? Can recommend a decent small gem of a restaurant.
The Metrocentre has its own station.
If you kiss each other goodbye; she can get on the train to the Metrocentre direct from Newcastle Central and you on the tube (metro) to the International Stadium.

How long is the drive up there? 5/6 hours? Looking at train prices .. this certainly would be the far cheaper option. Imagine it would be a pretty noisy coach on the return journey, should we actually secure a play off place ....
