When asked about the contributions of Rashford and Foden in the wide positions, he suggested that he was hoping for better from them - sorry, can't remember the words verbatim but right from the moment he was asked, his non-verbal response looked a bit 'meh'.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Tuchel claimed that England were too passive in attack and suggested that his two wingers failed to offer enough of a threat.

"We hope for more impact in these positions," he said. "More dribbling, less passing and more aggressive runs into the box. I thought this was all missing, the chances come from the little runs behind the line. They were not as decisive as they can be."

Albania are no mugs despite there FIFA ranking, in Euro 2024 they only narrowly lost to Italy and Spain (2-1 and 1-0) and drew with Croatia so for me a decent result for TTs first match. A good base to build on as he gets to know the players better.

We should never expect these teams to let us steam roller them like what may have happened years ago, yes we should easily qualify top of the group but they need to be shown respect for how far the smaller footballing nations have come.

Saw Spain beat Holland last night AET and on pens.IMO England really need games of this sort of intensity before they get to the US.Spain proved too stong for GS In Germany last summer.Hopefully they won't for TT.
