Breaking News Daniel Kanu recalled by Charlton

Coker would have played today. Wes not yet. JD, Wes and Coker all should be back for the next league match. Miley won't be.
Maybe hopper will become a possibility again now kanus gone back.
The game being off was the favoured outcome after losing kanu.
Hear 16th is now the date being talked about for the takeover but so far nothing has happened as talked about so who knows !?
If JD, Wes and Coker all back for next match then I think that takes us to 16 fit players? So no new players - unless we can bring them in before the above 3 are declared fit?

So the next significant date of ratboy’s housing passion. God, I hate the cunit.

Personally I think he needs a different team / tactics around him to score goals. We don't create the type of opportunities that he requires.
Really ? We are crying out for a striker with energy and not afraid of hard work. We also need a striker who gets himself in the 6 yard box. Kanu fitted all those requirements. We get a lot crosses into the box some good, some not so good. Not quite sure what else you want.

Recall us doing that for an FA Cup replay at home to Exeter. If memory serves me right think Tony bagged the winner in a 2-1 result about 1976!
My memory isn't that good so not sure, but Tony definitely did a reasonable job up front when needed, a great servant to the club. Didn't Keith Dublin do a stint too ?

I went to both of those games, but TBH i'd forgot the replay went to extra time. With the replay going to extra time if players got knackered they just had to get on with it, as only 1 sub allowed!.

@Chrisb I've just looked up Tony Hadley's record as a SUFC forward. I'll let you decide if 'he did a reasonable job'. In those days, of course, they wore 'positional' numbers on their backs instead of these stupid squad numbers. So I've included any game where he wore a number 9, 10 or 11.

1 goal approximately every 6.5 matches.

Just a bit of fun. As you can tell the Saturday nights here are just wild!!!

But IMHO a centre half doesn't make a great goal scorer.

Tommy Black (winger) was put up front as well I seem to remember - not quite the same as being a defender put at the sharp end but still a fish out of water I would have thought.

I agree with everything you say about what we need. What I am saying is we don’t create enough chances for him, it is nothing against Kanu more an observation that we don’t play in a way that suits him. E.g. we don’t play many balls into the channel, more often than not we play wide with crosses, Kanu prefers the ball to feet in the videos that I have seen.
