Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 5-0 Solihull Moors

I thought Timlin made an interesting point in the Q&A at half time in that the Southend crowd are patient enough to allow the defence to move the ball from side to side whilst waiting for an opening. When Maher first arrived I can remember some impatience in the crowd with this tactic and many cries of “get it forward”. Shows how far we have come both as a team and a crowd.
well Maher was Captain Crab as @Hooly used to call him ! 😂

I have taken 24 hours to have a think about what happened and how to best summarise the game but I could only come up with one word.

Masterclass.

We really need to manage our expectations for young Daniel. Scoring quadruples every game just isn't going to happen and the danger is trying too hard. So bring on Ebbsfleet and lets see what happens.

But I missed only one game from the top 11! And yet it's Moore and Best goals I remember, ahem..best

We did beat Bradford City 4 -1 but Silvester didn't score infact he didn't even plau. He was on loan to Blackburn Rovers around that time and subsequently ended up in the NASL in early 1977 playing for Washington Diplomats.

1976 / 77 Season
League Division 4
12th November 1976

However the previous Season...

1975 / 76 Season
League Division 3
Southend 4 - 0 Brighton HA
Scorer: Silvester (4)
Attendance: 4,784
Aha! Thanks mate. The grey matter was half right then...

We will be scoring goals for fun now.

We have never had a problem crossing the ball and getting the ball into the area, in fact that is something we ate very good at,

The problem has always been converting those crosses into goals.

Now we have 2 very good strikers in that said area, and they will be peppering that goal mouth, with goal after goal.

WE WIIL, make the playoffs this year.

Agree with this , I thought he caused chaos in their box on every corner and could have had a couple of goals to his name .
I too think he will chip in with 5-7 goals this season
Yes, fully agree, and those extra goals could be the difference of getting into the play offs or not.
