SUFC: The Future SUFC up for sale

- he would like this to be completed by July / August ahead of the new season

I don’t think he actually say he wanted it to be completed by then. He said he thought the new owners would want it to be completed by then so they could impose their DNA on the club.

Translation: I’ve got no money for a transfer budget and we’ll be cutting back wages big time (&scrapping the academy?) unless someone comes in so you better hope it gets completed soon.

2 million wasn't invested, it was secured via a loan to pay off debts. How is paying off a debt investment??? The man is a complete moron!
The investment was lending the money to SUFC. SUFC then used that money to pay off the debts. This is standard business terminology.

Don't hold your breath too long on that meeting next week, he intimated that that won't happen following the announcement today, in the video in reply to a direct question about a meeting requested by Paul.
Again, totally disrespectful to the Trust and other supporters groups. Why not still meet on Tuesday, as planned ? Because he knows they'll ask for much more detail, which he doesn't want to divulge ?

I’m struggling here. People wanted Ron out and an exit strategy. Here it is. People are still ****ed off. He actually wants rid folks, he wants to cash in, he’s tired. Let’s hope not too tired and fed up to not care who he sells to eh?! We know his ‘DD’ hasn’t been spot on before.

I’m taking this press conference as a significant development. It’s huge for Ron to be laying his cards on the table like this.

You are right, but I just cringe whenever he keeps spinning things like he's our saviour. Rather than a businessman that has run out of options.

I’ve decided to alter my bet from Space X landing a man on Mars to NASA landing back on the moon before a ball is kicked at FF. Odds have shortened.

Perhaps it’s because many are worried about the incredible coincidence that he’s made the announcement so shortly after the fans were coming together to potentially withhold the primary source of income for the club with season tickets.

With this announcement he clearly hopes this won’t happen, he hasn’t had to answer any difficult questions about current financial mess and has no commitment to actually sell.

Of course he may be entirely genuine (for the first time) but it could also be a very smart neat move he’s pulled off the appease the masses for a while just as they were coming up with a unified approach which would impact him

Bit of an extreme reaction if it’s because of the season ticket thing. It might’ve helped him think ‘sod this’ though.

I just wonder who's lacking the most backbone, Ron or the press in that room. He gave them so many Carrots but they remained silent.

Ron suggesting the club was in a better position than we he took over.

Press "the club was in the football league"

Ron "they were bottom" ... smiling smugly.

No response guys???

How about- yes Ron, they were bottom, and now they are in the National league which is BELOW bottom. So aren't the club in a worse position than when you took over??

Ron "when I took over the club was in 4.5million in debt which I paid off.

So 25 years on, the club is in the National league, staff not paid, players not paid including the biggest asset taking the club to court, HMRC not paid with many spiralling debts.... can you say that after 25 years you've brought success after paying off that 4.5million so called debt?

Is that really a measure of a succesful transition??

Why don't people call him out? He even said it's your chance!

They are all completely inept!!

Perhaps the Trust and others should stand by the idea of fans holding their money back until he's prepared to meet them, then ?

A few people have mentioned Carl and his consortium - my understanding was that they were only interested in the whole development, ie, housing development as well - which doesn't appear to be for sale. So unless things change I'd rule Carl out - as he himself did a few weeks ago.

Alternatively, if he cancels, send him the questions we wish to be answered and give him a deadline to answer them.

Saying there probably won't be a meeting isn't good enough.

We are glad he is going to sell up, but not all the details are clear surrounding the current position and whether he or we like it, he is still currently responsible for the club and accountable.
