Breaking News Season ticket prices go up for 2023/24

Agree with the initial increase up to £340 but after the early bird period £380 is very steep compared to last year.

Pretty sure we charged around that when we were pushing for the league one play offs a few seasons back.

Now for the same price you can watch an embargo'd club put unpaid players on a pitch that's below par because the ground staff aren't paid and the poor woman serving you a pint at half time can just about afford the bus ride home as she hasn't been paid for two months. Oh and you can urinate in the dark because the toilet lights don't work, find pigeon crap 10m from the food kiosk, (Tuesday last week in the East Blues/Yellows), and half the away end is condemned.

Honestly Ron, **** off.

Not for me. I'll pick and choose games. Very tone deaf, but fully expect that from this Club.

Not the best stadium in the World, but you can get a season ticket at Chelmsford City for £145 and they have actual infrastructure that some fans may want to make use of - you know, such as running water, toilets, a proper bar and decent food outlets.

I know trust for Ron is in very short supply but does anyone really think the increase in season ticket price is going to be used for frivolous purposes?
No, but I am concerned that it will make very little difference in stopping the appearance of our almost yearly embargo and wage problems.

This basically sums up my feelings on buying a season card. Exactly why it boiled my **** reading about all the wonderful moments at Roots Hall this season and the something special Kevin Maher is building.

43 years a fan, home and away, a majority of those years a ST. I've tweeted the club and said that until we have reassurances regarding the future of the club, the embargo being lifted and staff being paid then i will not be renewing my three. i don't have an issue with the price rise, but i do about giving my money to a business that is completely unstable and no guarantee of how my money will be spent or even if we will have a club in June
Cant disagree with your sentiments as someone who has supported the club over 60 years and a Season ticket holder for over half that period I will personally email TL in the same way.We all need answers please treat us all with respect not contempt.Wheather or not it has an effect is debatable but it will show how the fan base is feeling and not taken for granted

And how much did your pre-match pint cost then compared to now? How much did your tomatoes in the supermarket (when available) cost then compared to now?

I think the price rise is justifiable.

What isn’t justifiable is the current running of the club. The lack of an exit plan for Martin. The lack of a timetable for when we’ll be in Fossetts and the current nightmare of embargoes and staff not being paid will be over.

So should prices go up by 50% or 75% then?
That would obviously be hugely controversial and unaffordable/unrealistic for the majority of fans.

I would say that RM selling at least a partial stake in SUFC to an investor would be much more apt.

He can get to work on this while we hold back on purchasing a ST.

Absolutely 100% with you Jon, Supporter for over 60+ years and like you a ST holder for well over 40 of them. The biggest problem I have with this IF and WHEN Ron decides to engage with us mere mortals will anyone actually believe anything he tells us or just take it with a great big pinch of salt. I spoke to Tom just after Covid had finished in the Legend's Lounge and told him exactly this that I just don't believe a single word Ron says anymore and I just don't see that scenario changing anytime soon.

I expected a price rise as the cost of everything is going up.

But 30%? Come on... That's just pure greed from Ron. Can guarantee his thinking behind it is that they paid this amount a couple of seasons back so why not again.

As I said I'm in.
People can obviously do what they want. However my view is not renewing hurts the club. Ron is not going anywhere until FF is completed and probably Roots Hall as well. Calling for this mythical exit plan is also a bit hopeful. He is not going to give his hand away and make it easy for potential buyers. But he will eventually sell as he's as old as me. :Stunned:
That's when the real exit plan starts with the negotiations with various interested parties.

Rate of inflation is 8.8%.

These new prices represent increases of 15% for early bird window and almost 30% afterwards.

We're in a cost of living crisis too, the club isn't alone there.

It seems that student prices have been scrubbed.

The facilities that we are paying to gain entry to are disgusting and a health hazard.

The match day experience is appalling.

And the price rises are justifiable? Really, Yorkie?

This is laughable.

So the quality of football has gone down ie we are playing national league, mostly under and embargo and can't sign any players.

The ground we play in is a complete shambles. It's literally getting to a point of disrepair. The facilities are dire.

The club up until a few days ago was in danger of going bust for good, with some staff still not paid.

We have no news on fossetts. We keep getting told that diggers will be on site in the spring/summer, which is at complete odds with SBCs version of events. They claim planning isn't even in place.

We have a management team performing miracles just to keep us in the mix and a team who are doing their best. All of which are a high risk of throwing in the towel at the end of the season due to the behind the scenes situation.

Ron Martin has decided to just increase the season card prices.

Until I see definitive answers on a fossetts start date, a full breakdown of how he intends to keep the club afloat and not just sleep walk into yet another winding up order or a actual sustainable plan to mount a challenge to get back to the football league that doesn't include the words "embargo" , he can just foxtrot Oscar.
