Bugger, that's my Florida trip in May done for

I was going to NY end of April to visit my eldest son, DIL & Grandson, looks like the same for me, as this plague wont be under control in 6 weeks time.
Spoke to my son a couple of hrs ago, he said most tourist attractions already closed down, shops empty, & best to re-plan for Oct ( fingers X ).

I never use the toilet without washing my hands after, like you obviously. So I've never understood the high percentage that don't wash their hands. Now with the potentially deadly virus about, you would finally expect a lot more of them to wash their hands, but no, nothing seems to have changed. Shocking really.

When-ever i come out of a loo in a pub, i always use my little finger to clasp the door handle at the top, to minimise any germs!. Because as you correctly state, many blokes dont bother washing their hands, & i dont want their **** drippings on my hand!.

Done a little bit of digging and have come up with some worrying figures.
Italy's death toll went from just under 200 to just over 1000 in around 5 days.
This has overwhelmed their health service which we are told is one of the best on the planet.
This is obviously what Boris is trying to avoid and quite rightly IMO.
Whether or not we get hit with the same numbers remains to be seen. Spain and France don't have numbers like Italy although numbers are rising and the countries immediately around North Italy don't seem nearly as bad.

Love the request this morning from the supermarkets asking for shoppers to be 'more considerate'. What planet are they on ? I can't believe they didn't see this coming - after all, Joe Public did as we mentioned here. Maybe if they'd put restrictions/limits in place sooner...... Still, I'm sure they're quite happy counting the profits rolling in.

One report is they have shut the last of the makeshift hospitals in China because they only had 19 new cases.

One minute even Doctors with all the right protective gear and precautions are dropping dead and then its all ok.

Have a look at the Guardian video of the really 'busy' Chinese hospital.......Someone is having a chuckle at us lot.

Lots of people talking about a cough/cold/flu going back to New Year in the UK, with symptoms similar to COVID, I wonder how many people have actually had it without realising, which would explain the speed with which it's spread across the world.

I have a cold myself that's been kicking around for about 10 days, I have a cough that is not persistent and is worse in the morning, on waking, and at night. I had a really bad sore throat for a week and have a stuffy nose, and occasional sneezing fits (not that that is anything out of the ordinary, as I never sneeze just once). I have no problem breathing, no fever and no aches or pains that are not part of my normal arthritic type ones. This is the same cold that others in the office have had, which even our lady with leukaemia has had and got over.

My family reports the supermarkets are rammed this morning with queues to get into the car park in some cases.

Self isolation for over 70s and those at risk in the coming weeks and later compulsory confinement if necessary. Could be 4 months according to Matt Hancock. Food and meds should be delivered to them at home. Well there ya go, better start booking your shopping delivery slots now if you fit the age group.

Runny noses, sniffles, sneezing, sore throat are nothing to worry about. It's high temperature with a cough.

''DON'T PANIC, DON'T PANIC, Mr Mainwaring'',..........Oops, too late.
Absolute carnage at the Supermarkets this morning. Hundreds waiting to get in. Car parks full. Queue's going all the way down the isles with trolleys ram packed by panic buyers. So I shot over to the Airport, and went to Home Bargains. Jam packed, lots of shelf's empty. Same as everywhere, no painkillers at all. The only plus side was they had a delivery of toilet rolls and kitchen towel. How long that stock will last, I don't know.
