Nile Ranger

Should we give Nile another chance given our injury situation?

LOL, when I saw there was another post on this thread, I thought he'd had his car stolen again!

I'd be tempted to take him for the month, to put himself in the shop window and try to find another club. We sure as hell could do with someone with some height in the team at the moment.

When he first came to us, I was all for giving him a chance, but I do think he burned any opportunities we afforded him. I think there are enough problems in the camp currently and i would hate for us to add to them. Even if he was a) reformed and b) fit, I suspect there are enough still at the club with adverse memories of him and would be disgruntled by his return.

He certainly can't be trusted to turn up on time, and he can't be trusted to have not been at an all night party. He was given so many chances and warnings. His unprofessional behaviour upset the camp. So no, not even for a month.

I think that's the nub of it - it's all very well us fans having him back in a flash, but what about his teammates.

If I were CP, I'd want to sound out respected pros who were at the club with Nile - White, Cox, Oxley, Turner, Coker - and see what their thoughts are...

If they were playing well it wouldn’t be an issue.

At the AGM, Ron asked if anyone would have him back, not a single hand in the room went up. I just think that we are struggling so much now that JUST a month, and on set terms might be worth it.

Of those actually in the 1st team at the moment, Cox would probably be the one with the biggest issue, as he was close to Anton and that is where the majority of the trouble was.

He might just improve the form of Robinson.....

To those of you wanting him back.....Please stop it now your embarrassing yourselves. We are going through a bad patch but we are British and from Essex maintain your dignity. otherwise you could end up like......Nile Ranger.

Trust me that I am no fan of Ranger and wouldn't relish seeing him given another chance, but football is a business and a business decision needs to be made, not an emotive one.

The saying 'pride comes before a fall' may be appropriate here.

I think too many on here are getting desperate because of our results the last month. For a start he's not fit. Secondly he is not the deadly striker we are looking for, he was only good or very good in small patches. He's unreliable and a gangsta party animal. Don't forget he was caught out at a Boots N Laces surprise drug testing session, when he admitted to Phil Brown before testing that he had taken class A, MDMA on the previous Saturday and Cocaine on the Sunday. Yes we desperately need a goal scoring striker, but no, it's not Nile Ranger and all his gangsta lifestyle.

Vote for me.
